Michel Emile Chammas is the President of the American Friends of Notre Dame University-Louaize (AFNDU) and a dedicated leader in the Lebanese community of Houston, Texas. Born in Chekka, Lebanon, Michel has lived in Houston since 1984.
Michel holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, earned in May 1984. He is the President and CEO of Chammas Cutters, Inc., a global company specializing in the design and manufacture of downhole tools for the oil and gas industry.
Dr. Joseph A. Khalil, DDS is the Treasurer of the AFNDU and an accomplished dentist and community leader. Dr. Khalil is the founder of Arlington Dentistry for Design and Oakton Dentistry for Design in Northern Virginia. He graduated with honors from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000 and later completed a prosthodontic specialty residency at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Khalil’s dedication to service has been a cornerstone of his life. Since his early teens in Lebanon, he has been actively involved in volunteer and nonprofit work, beginning as a Boy Scout and Red Cross volunteer. During dental school, he joined the Jamaica Project, providing free dental care to underserved children in Jamaica.
Jessica Joseph Azar is a Lebanese journalist with over 10 years of experience. In 2018, she announced her candidacy for the Lebanese parliamentary elections as an independent candidate, allied with the Lebanese Forces, a major member of the March 14 coalition.
Jessica ran for a seat in the Metn district, one of Lebanon's most politically dynamic regions, where she contended with some of the nation’s most influential figures. She stood out as one of the youngest and most prominent candidates in the 2018 elections, gaining recognition for her strong stance against the Syrian regime and her bold policy positions.
