Dr. Joseph A. Khalil, DDS is the Treasurer of the AFNDU and an accomplished dentist and community leader. Dr. Khalil is the founder of Arlington Dentistry for Design and Oakton Dentistry for Design in Northern Virginia. He graduated with honors from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2000 and later completed a prosthodontic specialty residency at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Khalil’s dedication to service has been a cornerstone of his life. Since his early teens in Lebanon, he has been actively involved in volunteer and nonprofit work, beginning as a Boy Scout and Red Cross volunteer. During dental school, he joined the Jamaica Project, providing free dental care to underserved children in Jamaica.
A passionate advocate for Lebanon, Dr. Khalil has continuously worked to support his home country even after moving to the Washington, D.C. area nearly two decades ago. He joined the Lebanese American Council for Democracy (LACD) and played a key role in reviving the organization in 2012. Serving as LACD’s President from 2016 to 2018, he helped to strengthen the organization’s mission of promoting Lebanese democracy and fostering community engagement.
In 2018, Dr. Khalil founded the American Lebanese Political Action Committee (ALPAC), an organization focused on elevating Lebanon’s position in U.S. policy decisions in the Middle East, advocating for a brighter and more stable future for Lebanon and its citizens. Additionally, he is the founder and Executive Director of Empower Lebanon, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Lebanese people through various initiatives.
Dr. Khalil’s work with AFNDU and other initiatives underscores his deep commitment to community service and his vision for a stronger Lebanon and Lebanese-American community.
